The Tale of Rowland Oakes - Hogwarts Legacy Side Quest Walkthrough

Overview:

In The Tale of Rowland Oakes, you will assist Adelaide Oakes in finding her missing brother Rowland Oakes. This quest involves tracking him down, battling goblins, and retrieving his wand.

Quest Requirements:

  • Main Quest Completion: The Helm of Urtkot

Quest Objectives:

  1. Talk to Adelaide Oakes

    • Head to the Transfiguration Courtyard in the Astronomy Wing and speak with Adelaide Oakes to begin the quest. She is worried about her brother, Rowland, and needs your help.

  2. Find Rowland Oakes’s Campsite

    • Follow the Quest Marker to Rowland’s campsite.

  3. Defeat the Goblins Occupying Rowland’s Camp

    • At the campsite, you will find goblins. Defeat all of them to proceed.

  4. Investigate the Campsite to Find a Clue

    • After defeating the goblins, search the campsite for clues. You’ll find two clues on the ground at the back of the camp. Pick them up.

  5. Use Rowland’s Map to Follow His Trail

    • The map you find at the campsite gives you a hint. The red line indicates you need to follow the river trail towards a goblin outpost. This leads you to Korrow Ruins, located on the west side of the world map. You can fast travel or fly directly to the location.

  6. Enter the Goblin Outpost

    • Once at the Korrow Ruins, approach the outpost and enter. There will be a goblin guarding the entrance.

  7. Explore the Goblin Outpost and Find Rowland Oakes

    • Inside the outpost, defeat all enemies and continue following the quest marker to find Rowland. Be ready for more enemies as you make your way through.

  8. Talk to Rowland Through His Cell Door

    • When you find Rowland, you won’t be able to reach him immediately. Speak to him through the cell door.

  9. Find Rowland’s Wand

    • After speaking with Rowland, follow the quest marker to locate his wand. You will need to unlock a big metal door by using the Incendio spell.

      • To power up the door, go up the stairs to the left of the door, cast Incendio on the machine to activate it, and then open the door.

  10. Give Rowland His Wand

    • After you open the door, defeat the enemies inside the room. Then, head to the designated area to find Rowland’s wand on a table. Take it back to Rowland and give him the wand.
