Overview:
In The Man behind the Moons, you help Gladwin Moon unlock a more advanced form of Alohomora by collecting Demiguise Moons hidden throughout Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and various hamlets. These moons can only be collected at night.
Quest Requirements:
Main Quest Completion: The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament
Quest Objectives:
Return Demiguise Moons to Gladwin Moon (x9)
Collect 9 Demiguise Moons by finding the Demiguise Statues around the world.
Return to Gladwin Moon in the South Wing -> Faculty Tower at Hogwarts to hand in the moons.
Completing this objective unlocks Alohomora II, allowing you to open Level 2 Locks.
Return Demiguise Moons to Gladwin Moon (x13)
Collect 13 more Demiguise Moons and return them to Gladwin Moon in the South Wing -> Faculty Tower.
Completing this step unlocks Alohomora III, which enables you to open Level 3 Locks.
Wait to hear from Gladwin Moon
After returning the moons, wait for an owl post from Gladwin Moon. You can choose to continue collecting Demiguise Moons or focus on other objectives in the meantime.
Once you receive the message, proceed to the next objective.
Talk to Piers Pemberto
After receiving the owl post, go to Hogsmeade, near the Three Broomsticks, and meet with Piers Pemberton.
Talk to Gladwin Moon
Finally, return to Gladwin Moon in the South Wing -> Faculty Tower at Hogwarts to complete the quest.
