It all comes down to this. The Final Repository is the climactic final chapter of Hogwarts Legacy’s main storyline. You and Professor Fig face Ranrok in a battle for the fate of Hogwarts and the magical world itself.

The Descent Begins
Meet Fig in the Map Chamber. With the approval of the Keepers, the ancient map reveals a hidden staircase. Follow Fig down into the Keepers’ Caverns; a long, winding dungeon filled with Goblin Loyalists and Trolls. Expect several combat arenas and teamwork moments where Fig clears your path.
The Professors Join the Fight
As you push deeper into the caverns, a spectacular moment unfolds: Hogwarts Professors apparate in to help fend off Ranrok’s forces. After more fighting, including a brawl with a Troll and Goblins on a crumbling bridge, you and Fig reach the imposing door to the Final Repository.
Two giant Pensieve Guardians rise…until you raise the Keepers' Wand. The way is now open and it’s time to make a very important decision.
Decision Point: Choose Your Ending
Inside the repository, Fig asks what you’ll do with the power within. Your response determines the ending:
“I intend to keep it contained.”
(Good Ending – You choose restraint, honoring the Keepers’ wisdom.)“I intend to open it.”
(Bad Ending – You choose to wield the ancient power for yourself.)

Final Boss: Defeating Ranrok
Ranrok absorbs the repository’s magic and transforms into a massive shadow dragon. He’s immune to regular spells, so here’s what you’ll need to do to take him down:
Look for floating coloured orbs. Hit them with a spell of the matching type (red, yellow, or purple).
Each phase increases the challenge. You’ll need to hit 1, then 2, then 3, then 4 orbs before you can damage him.
Final phase—Once all four orbs are destroyed, he becomes vulnerable until defeated.
Tips: Bring Edurus Potions for defense and use Ancient Magic when available. Stay on the move—Ranrok’s fireballs and charges hit hard. And see our Ranrok Fight Guide for a detailed walkthrough of the battle.
Ending Scenes
Good Ending: You use the Keepers’ Wand to contain the magic. Fig helps… but sacrifices his life in the process.
Bad Ending: You absorb the magic yourself, glowing red with raw power. Fig still dies, dismayed by your decision.
Regardless of the path, a somber memorial is held at Hogwarts. Professor Weasley honors Fig’s memory, and spring blooms once more across the Highlands.
