• Meet Gladwin Moon near the Moving Staircase.

• Watch as a Demiguise Statue changes at night, then snatch the glowing moon from it.

• Follow Moon to a locked door, where he teaches you Alohomora.

Learning Alohomora (And How to Use It)

• Complete the spell-learning minigame to unlock Level 1 locks.

• Use Alohomora on the nearby door and solve the lockpicking puzzle:

  • Rotate the gears until they glow and hold them in place.

  • One set will glow green, the other red. Get both moving to open the lock.

Sneaking Through Hogwarts: Finding the Demiguise Moons

Moon wants two more Demiguise Moons, but they’re in heavily patrolled areas. Time to use your Disillusionment Charm and stay out of sight.

First Stop: The Prefect’s Bathroom

• Sneak past the prefects on the first floor.

• Unlock the Level 1 door on the right.

• Stay to the right side of the room to avoid detection and grab the Demiguise Statue inside.

Next Stop: The Hospital Wing

• Head up the spiral staircase to the Hospital Wing Floo Flame.

• Slip past the nurse and a professor near the beds.

• The second Demiguise Statue is on a table at the far end.

Carefully retrace your steps back without getting caught and return the moons to Gladwin Moon. He hints that with more moons, he can teach you even stronger Alohomora spells.
