Scrope's Last Hope (Slytherin) – Hogwarts Legacy Main Story Walkthrough

Scrope’s Mysterious Note

As a Slytherin, your next adventure starts with a letter from Scrope, the House Elf. He claims to know something about the book you've found and urges you to meet him. The first step is locating Scrope’s note.

Head to the Clock Tower Courtyard and find the note in the mouth of a Gryffin statue near the central well. The note will direct you to the wooden bridge where you'll find another clue. This note sends you off to the pumpkins downhill, where you’ll break them open with a Basic Cast to reveal the final note.

Meeting Scrope

With all the notes in hand, head to the coast near the broken docks to meet Scrope in person. He reveals he is the headmaster’s House Elf and is at risk of being caught. Scrope explains his former mistress, Apollonia Black, knew about the stolen book pages and suggests you search her grotto for clues. He also asks you to retrieve a ring from the grotto to gift to the headmaster.

The Grotto Adventure

Follow Scrope’s directions to the cliffs beneath Hogwarts to find a small cave. Swim inside to discover a mural of the giant squid and a pedestal. Place a slice of toast on the pedestal to activate the mural and open a passageway to the next area.

In the grotto, you’ll find Apollonia Black’s journal, but as you interact with it, Richard Jackdaw’s ghost appears. He reveals he stole the pages and sold the ring, and that the missing pages are likely with his body deep in the Forbidden Forest.

Return to Scrope

After speaking with Jackdaw, return to Scrope to update him on your findings. While the ring may be lost, Scrope is grateful for your efforts. He thanks you before Apparating away, marking the end of the quest.
