Head to the Hufflepuff common room and chat with Eldritch's portrait, who reveals a decades-old murder mystery. He believes you can help him clear the name of a wrongly accused woman and in return, he'll help you locate the missing pages from your mysterious book. The key to solving this? Eldritch's great-niece, Helen Thistlewood, who knows more about the case.

Tracking Down the Truth

In Upper Hogsfield, Helen explains the tale of Richard Jackdaw, a boy who went missing and whose ghost was later found headless. Jackdaw was allegedly involved in stealing pages from Peeves, and a woman named Apollonia Black gave false testimony that led to the wrongful imprisonment of Anne. Helen believes Anne might have decoded some of Jackdaw's final clues and points you to Azkaban to speak with her.

A Heart-Stopping Visit to Azkaban

With Helen at your side, you Apparate to Azkaban, but before you can reach Anne, a group of Dementors descend upon you. Thankfully, Helen defends you both with Expecto Patronum. After reaching Anne's cell, she reveals that Jackdaw hid something important in a vault near Upper Hogsfield. However, before you leave, Anne lashes out, injuring Helen. With a heavy heart, Helen urges you to continue your quest alone.

The Vault of Secrets

Follow the path to a nearby cave, where you'll find a series of Accio-activated wrungs that must be pulled in the right order to open the next area. Use Revelio to spot the correct wrungs. Inside, grab the Jackdaw's Clue scroll, and as you leave, Richard Jackdaw's ghost appears. The two of you share your findings, and he explains that Anne might be freed by learning the truth of his disappearance.

Jackdaw hints that the missing pages might still be with his body, somewhere deep within the Forbidden Forest. With a promise of further help, the quest comes to an end.
