Complete Graphorn Boss Guide & How to Tame Your New Magical Beast Buddy
During San Bakar’s Trial, you’ll run into a cranky, mountain-sized magical creature known as the Lord of the Shore– a big ol’ Graphorn with a bad attitude. He’s not thrilled to see you. But if you can best him in battle, you’ll earn the right to ride one of the coolest mounts in the game.
Let’s dive into everything you need to know to survive the fight, tame the beast, and charge into glory!
Before the Battle: What to Pack
Don’t just stroll into this one unprepared! The Graphorn hits hard, so you’ll want to bring your A-game (and some potions).
Potion Prep
Wiggenweld Potions – Heal up fast when things get wild.
Bring Plenty – this beast doesn’t pull punches.
Spells Prep
Confringo & Diffindo – Big, spicy damage.
Glacius & Expelliarmus – Great for slowing and disarming.
Ancient Magic Throw – Still works great, even if finishers don’t!
Note: Don’t bother trying to Levioso or Arresto Momentum the Graphorn. It’s just not gonna work.
Phase 1: Time to Tango!
When the fight begins, the Graphorn uses two main attacks:
Charge Attack – He lowers his head and charges straight at you. Dodge-roll sideways ASAP.
Ground Slam – He rears up and slams down, sending out a shockwave. When you see him rise, prepare to dodge again!
Do This: Stick to high-damage spells and keep your distance. Use Ancient Magic Throw to chuck stuff at him whenever you get the chance!
Phase 2: Things Get Spicier at Half Health
Once you knock him down to 50% health, the Graphorn gets extra grumpy. Expect:
Faster charge attacks.
Less time between slams.
Basically, less chill all around.
Do This: Stay mobile, dodge like your life depends on it (because it does), and keep using long-range spells like Confringo and Diffindo. Punish him during his short recovery windows!
Bonus Tip: Toss everything not nailed down with Ancient Magic Throw. Those hits add up!
Final Choice: Kneel or Fight Round Two?
Once he’s down, the Graphorn gives you a dramatic decision:
Kneel – Submit peacefully and earn his respect.
Attack – Fight him again in a tougher second round to force submission.
Our Advice: Kneel. It’s faster, kinder, and just as effective. Plus, the Graphorn is pretty cool– even if he did just try to murder you.
What Happens After You Win?
You unlock the Graphorn Mount. Say hello to your new magical battering ram on legs.
Your new Graphorn can break enemy shields and bulldoze through tough terrain.
You’ll need the Graphorn to finish the final trial, so don’t skip this part!
