Overview:

Deek has a new request– he wants you to breed a Thestral. To do so, you’ll need to rescue a male and female Thestral, purchase a Breeding Pen Spellcraft, and set up a breeding pen in the Vivarium.

Quest Requirements:

• Main Quest Completion: Charles Rookwood’s Trial

Quest Steps:

1. Talk to Deek in the Room of Requirement:

Find Deek in the Room of Requirement and speak with him to begin the quest.

2. Rescue a Male and Female Thestral:

• Travel to the Thestral Den located in the north of the world map (follow the quest marker).

• Use the Nab-Sack to capture a male and female Thestral.

• If you already have a male and female Thestral in your Vivarium, you can skip this step.

• To check the gender of a Thestral before capturing it, look at the top of the screen while aiming at it.

3. Purchase a Breeding Pen Spellcraft:

Head to Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade and buy the Breeding Pen Spellcraft for 1,000 Gold.

4. Return to Deek in the Room of Requirement:

After obtaining the Thestrals and the Breeding Pen Spellcraft, return to Deek to proceed.

5. Conjure a Breeding Pen:

• Enter the Vivarium that appears during your conversation with Deek.

• Cast the Conjuring Spell, go to Beast Items, select Breeding Pen, and place it in the Vivarium.

6. Use the Breeding Pen to Breed the Thestrals:

• Interact with the book in front of the Breeding Pen.

• Select Thestrals to begin the breeding process (this takes 30 real-time minutes).

• You can wait or complete other activities while it progresses.

7. Groom and Feed the Thestral Offspring:

• After 30 minutes, a Thestral Foal will be born.

• Use the Beast Feed Spell to feed it and the Brush Spell to groom it.

8. Speak with Deek:

• Return to Deek and report back to complete the quest.

Rewards:

• 180 XP

This completes the Foal of the Dead side quest in Hogwarts Legacy.
